Well, in our quest to fill our time now that Tyler and I are battered and bruised we decided to go on the Pond Tour. And, I have to say that it was nothing at all like what we expected. We always thought it was a tour put on by the local landscaping companies to showcase their abilities. Instead, it was put on by the Eastern Iowa Pond Society (EIPS) to showcase the ponds created by the group's members.

There were 10 ponds on the tour. There were the gigumbus ponds that were big enough for a small boat and little ones that a DIY person could install in a weekend. All of the ponds were awesome. Some had huge Koi. Others, had native Iowa fish like Blue Gills and Carp. And, every pond gave us tons of ideas for our own backyard... maybe that's a bad thing. :-)

Either way, I think we'll go again next year. Plus, the proceeds from the ticket sales go towards community beautification projects in the area.
