Tyvek Goes Up

The SW corner of the house finally started to get some Tyvek on it just as cold weather with the possibility of snow was being predicted for the week.

Tyler's parents and his sister, Lindsey, stopped out Sunday afternoon to give us a hand. Lindsey, Judy and I worked on cleaning off the patio. Tyler and his dad worked on patching the remaining holes in the sheathing so the Tyvek could go up. While Tyler and Tom finished patching the holes, Lindsey, Judy and I got started putting up the Tyvek. Judy held the roll of Tyvek while Lindsey and I pounded in the nails.

Once Tyler and Tom were done patching holes, they took over for Judy and I on the Tyvek. Lindsey kept right on pounding in the nails. There is still about a 3' strip of Tyvek that still needs to go up. But, getting the bottom portion of the Tyvek up has certainly helped make the house a lot warmer!

I'm also not sure, but I think this might have been the first time Lindsey got to enjoy the wonder of pounding in nails. So, in honor of the momentous occasion, I took a picture of what I believe were the first two nails she drove in.
