Rubble Sweet Rubble

The most interesting part of our renovation project is living in the house while you're trying to tear it apart. Out of the entire house, we're only using three. The kitchen, living room and main floor bathroom.

The kitchen was pretty dirty when Tyler and I moved in. There was indoor/outdoor carpeting on the floor and the cabinets were pretty dirty. Since this was something we were going to need to use I decided to tidy it up a bit.

Tyler and Bob pulled up the flooring. This left us with the tongue and groove subfloor. I ended up paintig the subfloor to protect it from the food and liquid that would most likely end up being spilled on it. Plus, this gave us a slightly more cleanable surface.

To take care of the dirty cabinets, I decided to paint them and update the pulls. I took down some of the cabinet doors to give it that shabby chic look. Plus, it made it easier to get to the everyday dishes.

The wash room is our combination bathroom/laundry room. When we moved in, all of the plumbing was on its last legs. So, an attempt to replace a single piece of pipe less than a foot long ended with Tyler having replaced all of the plumbing in the house.

Right now, Tyler and I pretty much live and sleep in a single room. We converted the old dining room into our TV/Computer/Bedroom.

The other room on the main floor is being used as our storage room.
