Linn County Homeowner Examination

In most counties, there are regulations that stipulate that all electrical and plumbing work must be performed by a licensed contractor. So, in order for homeowners to be able to do electrical or plumbing work on their home, they must take a homeowner examination that covers the electrical and plumbing codes.

In Linn County, homeowners are required to take the exam each time they request a permit to do either electrical or plumbing work (Another form of 'protect the labor'). So, on Tuesday morning, Tyler went down to the Linn County Planning Office to take the electrical and plumbing Homeowner examination.

As always, Tyler did an excellent job by scoring 94% on both exams. It took 3 hours to take both tests. Tyler had purchased the 2005 electrical codes book prior to the test. But, since the Linn County codes are based off of the 2002 codes, he decided to use the books that were provided.
