Plowed Away by Kindness
Starting yesterday, a snow storm came thru the area dumping between 3-6 inches of snow. Considering the fact that the only snow removal device we own is a small shovel, the clearing of our driveway presented a fairly large problem. With all the work and expense of renovating our house, we just haven't had the time or money to go snow blower shopping. So, with no snow blower and the car snow bound, we decided to drive the truck to work since it had 4WD.
On the way home after work, Tyler and I had no idea of how we were going to clear the driveway. I was envisioning us either slowly clearing away the snow with our shovel or just waiting for it to all melt away in the next warm spell. But, as we pulled into our yard we made a fantastic discovery... someone had plowed our entire driveway out of kindness. They cleared the driveway and even cleared paths to all of our buildings.
We're not sure who performed the act of kindness. Our neighbors to the North, the Moore's, have helped us out like that before. Then again, our neighbor across the road just recently retired and owns a Bobcat - so maybe he got bored. Maybe it was even our last neighbor to stop in, Mr. Cope. It might have even been the gentlemen who delivers my hay. I just wish we knew who it was so we could tell them how nice of a gesture it was and that we really appreciated the help.
It's things like this that make Tyler and I happy that we decided to fix up this house. You can always buy a nicer house, but I think it'd be pretty hard to move in next to a nicer set of neighbors.
