Can you see it now?

When Tyler and I purchased our house, all of our friends and family thought we were crazy. Some were brave enough to tell us directly. Some were less brave and confided in others who relayed the message on to us. But, regardless of how we heard everyone's thoughts, they were all the same... "They're crazy. Why did they buy that? They're completely screwed".

Well, hopefully this picture will help everyone start to see what we saw. Using my handy dandy image manipulation program, GIMP, I used an existing photo to create a mock-up of how our house will most likely look following renovations.

This is an almost original shot of the house. The only change shown is the removal of the beauty parlor/mud room addition.

This is a view of the house after we replaced the roof and windows on the second floor. While replacing the windows, we also stripped off the original siding and added some TyVek wrap.

This is a mockup of the front of the house following renovations.

The only point that is still up for grabs is, 'what will become of the gable window?' We're trying to decide between a new window that is either rectangular, like the existing window, or arched. Currently, I think we're leaning more towards an arched window.

The house will look beautiful with the railings you're planning. And I'm with you - arched window!
