Our Fourth of July Vacation

So, what did we do for the 4th of July? We worked on the house of course. Since July 4th fell on a Wednesday this year, Tyler and I decided to take two additional days of vacation so we could have a nice long weekend to work on the house. The following is a lit of everything we got done over the weekend.

Day 1 Tuesday
  • Finished Stripping Sides of Tub
Day 2 Wednesday
  • Disassembled Tub
  • Stripped Underside of Tub
  • Stripped Tub Feet
  • Refinished Tub Feet
  • Refinished Tub Exterior
  • Hung Water Barrier in Guest Bathroom
  • Hung Hardi-backer in Guest Bathroom
Day 3 Thursday
  • Finished Hanging Drywall in Guest Bathroom
  • Re-assembled Tub
Day 4 Friday
  • Installed Outside Corners for Drywall in Guest Bathroom
  • Finished Hanging Foyer Drywall
  • Hung Drywall Around Attic Stiars
  • Taped Drywall Seams in Guest Bathroom
  • Installed Inside Corners for Drywall in Guest Bathroom
  • Slapped on First Layer of Mud in Guest Bathroom
Day 5 Saturday
  • Installed Outside Corners on Archway in Master Bedroom
  • Finished Hanging Drywall in Foyer
  • Enlarged Opening for Attic Stairs
  • Finished Hanging Drywall around Attic Stairs
Day 6 Sunday
  • Finished Second - Filler - Layer of Spackle in Guest Bathroom.
  • Started Hanging Drywall in Master Bathroom

As you could probably tell, Tyler and I were starting to run out of steam by the end of the weekend. The long hours of working on the house in the 90+ degree weather made us very happy to go back to work on Monday.
